Um, can someone tell me why the self-tanner I just used smells an awful lot like burnt hair? Yuck.
Anyway, my dad says he likes my new hairdo because it reminds him of when he and my mom were young, which I think is rather sweet. Last night, he sat down next to me on The Couch while I was watching Trading Spaces and told me the story of how he and mommy met. It goes like this:
He was at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago with a friend. At the time, it was still an actual ballroom and was called The Cheetah. He was on the phone with a girl he was dating when my mom and her friend walked down the stairs past him. I swear this is like something out of a Beatles movie... he and his friend chased my mother for EIGHT blocks and finally got her to stop. My dad's friend always wanted what my dad wanted, so my dad told him he wanted the blond (my mom being the brunette) and they went out for pizza at Uno's downtown.
That was in January. In March, my parents were driving to a Naval base for a dance. My dad turned to my mom and said "Hey we get along pretty good, think we should get married?" My mom said "What?!" But he was totally serious. They got married the following July and the rest, as they say, is history.
aww .. that is so cute. i wish something like that would happen to me ;\
